The hotsite gathers information about the main axes of the program and the benefits for the country, ranging from the lower costs of cargo transportation between Brazilian ports to the development of the shipping industry.

With a simple click, citizens can access information ranging from "what is cabotage", informative videos about the program and its subscription, the full text of Project 4199/2020, in addition to informational, interviews on the topic and a technical note with all the legal apparatus, international scenario and the history of cabotage in Brazil.

“There is a great demand for information about this important program which aims to contribute to the change in the country's transportation matrix. And the Ministry of Infrastructure seeks maximum transparency to show the rationale behind the proposal. The hotsite will contribute to this purpose ”.

Diogo Piloni
National Secretary for Ports and Water Transport

The Project 4199/2020, that creates the cabotage incentive program, pending on an urgent basis in the Chamber of Deputies. The idea is to increase the offer and quality of this type of transport in the country, which consists of navigation between ports on the same coast as a country.

It's a safe mode of transportation, efficient and low cost. And although Brazil is a continental country, with almost 8 thousand km of coastline, the movement of national cargo through this modal represents only 11% of participation of the country's logistics matrix. So, the goal is to transform the extensive Brazilian coast into a great avenue.

With the boost in cabotage navigation, it will be possible to increase the volume of containers transported per year, going out of 1.2 million in 2019, to 2 million in 2022. The initiative will also increase the capacity of the maritime fleet dedicated to cabotage by 40% in the next three years, excluding those operating in oil and oil products.

Now that you know what cabotage is and discovered several details about this incentive program launched by the Government, how about getting to know a Transport Management System (TMS), able to manage all the complexity that this modality needs?

Signa with TMS e-cargo has been doing this for over 15 years, that is, that it deals with all these issues naturally, due to his vast experience in this matter, and in addition has the honor of serving the three main companies in this field with its multimodal transport management solution.

In the video below you will know more tips on today's topic.
